The Hyderabad police on Saturday registered a case against former lawmaker Nama Nageswara Rao on a complaint by a woman that he tried to make public her private pictures.

The complainant alleged that the Telegu Desam Party (TDP) leader, who is also an industrialist, threatened her for questioning about his affair with a former Karnataka legislator.

A case under sections 506 (criminal intimidation) and 509 (insulting the modesty of a woman) of the Indian Penal Code was booked against the former MP and his brother Seetaiah at Jubilee Hills police station here.
