The Prime Minister spoke about the incidents in Kathua and Unnao in the global diaspora summit he is attending in London on Wednesday,18.4.2018. He was forced to as his continued silence in both the issues had become deadening.

His response was feeble (as expected) and he said that rape of a child is a crime against society but playing blamegame on it is a bigger mistake. Little does he realize that this incidernt is a fruit of all the hatred he and his party has created by dividing people on religion.

Kathua case a replication of Gujarat model of communal hate

Using rape as a weapon in communal violence is a old practice, as the period of Partition tells us. The rape of a Christian sister in Orissa was used as a means of punishment.

The Kathua incident cannot be brushed aside as a simple case of rape and murder of a helpless 8 year-old girl (hence a crime against society) but must be viewed for what it is: a pre meditated plan to create terror and scare the tribal Muslim community (Bakherwal community) to permanently leave the Rasana area in Jammu( a Hindu dominant area).

This kind of violence was a feature of the 2002 Gujarat riots when the PM was the Chief Minister of the state and did little to nothing to stop the violence which left thousands of Muslims dead and displaced lakhs. He is the same person who on a visit to a Muslim shelter called it a factory breeding children, thus exposing the deep bias inside his psyche.

Now he cannot really say that crimes like this should not be politicized. These crimes are born of his own politics of hate and bigotry.
