YSR Congress Party MPs’s hunger strike to bring pressure on the Central Government to grant special category status to Andhra Pradesh entered its fifith day on Tuesday.

While three MPs have been admitted into the hospital as their health is deteriorating, two MPS Avinash Reddy and Midhnu Reddy continued their hunger strike on fifth day.
Several leaders from national parties have extended their support to the fasting MPs.

Meanwhile, to bring more pressure on the Centre, the YSRCP on Tuesday has decided to block all the National highways across the constituencies in the state today. It is also planning to hold a Rail Roko campaign tomorrow.

On Saturday, CPM national secretary Sitaram Yechury expressed solidarity and sat on the stage with the YSRCP MPs for a little while.

“On the day the Bill to bifurcate the State came to Parliament, I asked about sharing of electricity, water and government employees. But there was no answer. [Then] I asked why it was taken up without proper homework,” Yechury told reporters.
