Earlier heroes tried to take commercial route to become successful. But now they are showing interest in experimenting, especially with scripts in which heroes are suffering with peculiar diseases.

Mahesh Babu started this trend in Tollywood with ‘Nenokkadine’ in which he suffers from psychological disease of imagining things. Though the film failed, he was praised for his performance. Then young hero Nikhil played the role of a guy suffering from Porphyria (who cannot face the sunlight) and the film was well received by the audience. Recently Nani came up with ‘Bhale Bhale Mogadivoy’ in which he had short-term memory loss and the film became a massive hit in Nani’s career. In Kollywood this is not new as many heroes did these kind of roles like Suriya in ‘Ghazini’, Vikram in ‘Aparichitudu’, Dhanush in ‘3’, Vishal in ‘Indrudu’ and many others.

Due to this, the directors are coming up with interesting subjects. There are also rumours that NTR is also going to play the role of a psycho in ‘Nannaku Premato’ which is not yet conformed. But being a Sukumar film one can expect these kind of disorders in the film.
